UPDATE: Because those awesome Seahawks will be playing Sunday in the NFC Championship Game we have postponed our batting and pitching/catching sessions to Feb. 8. Same times, same place. See details below. Please help spread the word to anyone you know who is planning to attend. Thank you.

Kirkland Pony Baseball holds tryouts to make every effort to achieve competitive balance and assure a positive experience for all. There is no pressure; this is just an opportunity for coaches to get a feel for each player’s abilities. Everyone who signs up will be placed on a team or added to a waiting list if there are not enough players to complete an additional team.

Players are expected to attend at least one hitting and one fielding/running tryout session. If you are interested in pitching or catching you should attend a pitching tryout.

Be sure to bring appropriate gear, including layered clothing for outdoor sessions. All sessions will be on artificial turf, so wear appropriate shoes and no metal cleats.

Player drafts will be held shortly after tryouts. Team meetings will be scheduled starting around Feb. 13.

A word about tryout schedules

July 29, 2014

We have had a number of inquiries lately regarding our tryout schedule. We hold our tryouts in late January/early February, to ensure the largest participation possible. Also, we consider them evaluations; all players who register will be placed on a team if at all possible; the evaluations simply help us place players appropriately and assure competitive balance.

Check back here in January for updates about the schedule. You can also follow us on Facebook by following the link on the right side of this page.

We appreciate the tremendous interest in our program.

Fabri Thunder wins Memorial Day tournament

May 30, 2014

In the first year of Fabri Thunder Baseball having two teams, both Gold and Black advanced to the Cascade Division semifinals of the 2014 Kirkland Pony Baseball Memorial Day Tournament.

Thunder Black 13u narrowly edged Thunder Gold Cascade on Memorial Day to advance to the championship game. Michael Fitzsimmons was the winning pitcher.

“At the beginning of the season we hoped to see each other at the end of the tournament, we just hoped it was one game later and we didn’t have to knock each other out,” said Coach Pablo Guerrero.

Thunder Black squared off with the Eagles in the championship showdown. Emily Tsujikawa pitched a gem through 7 1/3 innings for the win. The Eagles mounted 3-run rally in the seventh, but it was not enough to over come Thunder’s 7 runs.

Congratulations and thanks to all the teams who participated and helped make this a terrific tournament.

Tournament update and results

May 26, 2014

From our Commissioner and Tournament Director, Glen Beard:

We played all games today except we were rained out at Lee Johnson at 7:45 PM.  We canceled that last game of the day. Lee Johnson is not playable tonight and is a question mark for tomorrow.

We have moved the semifinal Pony and Colt locations and times to see if we can finish tomorrow

Pony will play at 9 a.m. at Kirkland Junior High and Juanita High School

Colt will play at both locations at 11:15 a.m., right after the Pony game.

I’m hoping the city can save some time on Lee Johnson tomorrow.  If they can’t I will advise you as soon as I know regarding championship games.

All other games were canceled as I am not sure I can get in the games we have scheduled tomorrow.
